Abandoned as a child, Sky doesn’t remember her birth parents or who she used to be. Someone wanted rid of her, but she doesn’t know who… or why.
Lucky for Sky, the Brights came along and adopted her. When the family move from England to Colorado, Sky thinks her biggest problem is going to be fitting in at a US high school. She doesn’t count on handsome American Zed, or the strange connection they share. She definitely doesn’t count on the fact that finding the guy of her dreams will also put them both in terrible danger…
I liked that Sky wasn’t just an ordinary human, like Bella in Twilight, because she had special, but not unique, gifts. I wasn’t too pleased with the fact that Sky was reluctant to stay with her soulfinder just because of an event that is revealed to her from the past. On the other hand, I liked that she didn’t embrace the world of the savants so easily, like Bella did vampires. I thought it was nice that Sky and Zed’s love was much deeper than any other couple’s in a paranormal romance novel because of their soulfinder connection, which made them two halves of a whole.
At the beginning, Zed was a mean bad boy, who wasn’t very nice to Sky, but then he completely changed when he found out about their connection, Sky lit him up like a Christmas tree, and he became a sweet and caring guy. Sky has had the toughest life. Left abandoned by people who hated her, not remembering her name and seeing strange ‘auras’ made her feel like a freak. It made me feel really empathetic towards her life and what a tough time she has had. I have given this book stars.
