Luisa Plaja, writer of Split By A Kiss, Swapped By A Kiss and Extreme Kissing has agreed to do an interview just for readgig.
The interview starts off with just a little information about her book writing, which i’m sure will be helpful information for those of you who are keen authors.

1. What inspired you to begin writing books?

I’ve always loved reading and getting involved in stories, so writing my own stories seemed like the natural thing to do! I started writing my own stories when I was little and I sold short stories to magazines when I was a teenager.

2. Why teenagers books as oppose to adult books?

I love writing about teen years, a time in life when anything seems possible, and also often a time when people are forging their identity.

3. Where is your favourite place to write?

Anywhere where I can plug into my playlists and be uninterrupted!

4. Where do you get ideas for your characters personality?

I think I probably use bits and pieces of my own personality, combined with interesting characteristics I’ve observed in other people or totally dreamed up out of nowhere.

5. How long does it take you to write a book, roughly?

It really depends, but on average I think it takes me at least a year to go from the initial idea to something resembling a finished manuscript.

 6. Who is your favourite character from swapped/split by a kiss? And Why?

It’s a hard question to answer, but I think Rachel is up there with my favourites because there’s so much more to her than meets the eye – or rather, more than she willingly shows people of herself. I love writing Tori, too, but she’s the total opposite – she wears her heart on her sleeve.
